It’s so awkward being atheist in Santa Barbara.

All these really nice, slightly inebriated, definitely mentally ill people will sit down next to me while I’m on my break downtown and they’ll tell me about how blessed by god I am and how they see the heavenly spirits are following me and taking care of me and all these things are really nice things to say but I don’t believe any of it and I’m ok with receiving them until they ask me how much I love god and I’m just like ‘Uh…’.
